Kaylene's love and devotion of singing stems from growing up in musical theatre academies from which she was projected into performing in amateur and professional shows around the lower mainland before focusing on studying voice at university. She earned a Music Diploma from Capilano University then moved on to complete her Bachelor's of Music in Voice from the University of Victoria. She has participated in various vocal ensembles and choirs in her career as well as solo concerts, more notably a featured solo concert at the Silk Purse Arts Centre in West Vancouver. She was also chosen to be a soloist in the Coloratura Tour for Pacific Opera Victoria. She cherishes being an alto in choirs and was even the alto section leader in the UVic Vocal Jazz Ensemble. She worked as an Emerging Artist with Ensemble Laude in Victoria where she helped lead the group as a soloist, a vocal coach, a section leader, as well as a conductor. Currently she works for the Vancouver Bach Choir as the Alto Section Lead.

Kaylene has always been enthusiastic and eager to teach and share her knowledge with other passionate singers. She teaches voice, piano, and music theory and those experiences are amongst her favourites in her musical career. She has taught children and adults, whose repertoire ranges from musical theatre, pop, folk, classical music, and more. As an instructor she wishes to help nurture healthy vocal technique, vocal performance, and artistry. Her goal is to find purpose and meaning in every piece of music, which she hopes to inspire in her students!
